二十年後のわたしは　年寄り　(old in age) ですね。

二十年後のわたしは　おかねが　たくさいありますから　はたらしません。

かぞくと　いっしょに　ロンドン(London) に　います。　

結婚しましたから、しゅじんと　２人は　とてもおおきうちに　います。

ロンドンは　すてきまちです。とてもきれいです　そしで　ひとは　とても　しんせつです。でも　あめが　いつも　ふりますから　ときどき　あまり　べんりじゃありませんです。

毎日　本を　読みます、料理が　します、そしで　ピアノを　弾ます　(play the piano)。

 

コーヒーが　だいすきですから　ときどき　きっさてんへ　いきます。

I get question ‘where do you see yourself 5/10/20 years from now’ a lot during interviews. My well-rehearsed ambitions along the lines of ‘I shall be the best in the industry’ were always presented as the answer.

There is also a part of me that just want to be jobless, do simple things like playing piano, singing, learning new languages, reading– things that I can peacefully enjoy.

Both of them are my dreams.

But I guess what will actually happen is that I will do what I do now and still dream those dreams.

Just realised that I only mentioned western musicians 私の最も好きな音楽 (Rock). This is a post about Jazz and I would like to dedicate it to musicians of Asian origin.

Two of my favourite artists of all times both covered the famous Don't know why by Norah Jones.

これわ　パク·ヒョシン（박효신）の　バージョンです。

パクは　韓国（かんこく）の歌手（かしゅ）。そして　パクの 声（こえ）が大好（だいす）きですよ!!!!

This is the version by Park Hyo Shin（박효신）.

Park is a Korean singer and I absolutely LOVE  LOVE  LOVE his voice.

I have listened to his albums for like a Million and One times.

これわ　 小野（おの）リサの　バージョンです。

私（わたし）は　長年（ちょうねん）の小野（おの）リサの音楽（おんがく）を　聴いていた。

This is the version by Ono Lisa, a very famous Japanese Jazz musician.

I have been listening to her music for years.

最近 特に それぞれの 国家の ロックに 夢中になります。

(Recently, I have been really into Rock from a few countries.)

Needless to say, Beatles and Queen had been my heroes for as long as I could remember.

I have recently rediscovered Nirvana (ニルヴァーナ).

ニルヴァーナ (Nirvana) は、アメリカのバンド。1980年代終盤にシーンに出現し。

(Nirvana is an American rock band that initiated in 1980.)

Their brief run ended in 1994 after the death of the lead singer Kurt Cobain.

全世界でのトータルセールスは、約7500万枚。

(They issued 750 million records around the globe.)

Cobain believed that music comes first and lyrics, second. Thus he focused mainly on the melodies of his songs. He describes his lyrics as ‘a pile of contradictions’. This coupled with his croaky voice make his music intense and mind-blowing. 

I vividly remember being almost frightened by his music and I fist heard it on the radio as a kid. Luckily, I have grown to appreciate Nirvana more and more.

Dear Kurt, we miss you.
